Fig. 47 Concept 1 3d model

• Concept 1
The position of the footrest is situated in a location that is quite far from the likely position of the user’s feet. As the footrest is only placed in one specific location, it leaves no room for flexibility of feet resting position for children of varying heights. Users that are of lower height will face difficulty while trying to climb onto the chair. Handles are not ergonomically optimized which might lead to wrist pains.

• Concept 2
The footrest is parallel to the ground. Hence, users of different leg heights will not be able to comfortably rest their feet on the footrest as it is at an angle that is not ergonomic and also leaves no room for flexibility. The handles, though a better variation than the first concept, are not ergonomically optimized for comfort and therefore may lead to wrist pains.

• Concept 3
A new design was explored for rocker's bottom. The front-facing rocker bottom is slightly longer than the back and this will overrule the chance of tipping over when the user leans forward. The handles here are also not very ergonomic which is not desirable as it may lead to wrist pains.
