The main material used to make potteries is a good quality clay. Pottery clay is bought from Gaggal. Traditionally potters used wooden wheel that was turned manually with the help of a stick. But with the changing time the potters opted to electric wheel, which is much faster, because of which the production of clay articles have become more. Common materials and tools used are:

• Clay – Main raw material used.
• Water – Which is regularly sprinkled on the clay to retain the moisture of clay.
• Thread – Is dipped in water and used to cut and separate the product from
    the turning wheel.
• Round Metal  Tool – Used to scrape out the excess clay.
• Smooth Pebble – Used to smoothen the article surface.
• Filter – Used to refine the clay powder.
• Colors – Enamel paints are used to color the finished article.
