Optics: 
Imagine the world without light. Light is an essential source for our life and eyes are also very essential part our perception. Optics is one of the major areas where people do not have much play kits, and the existing ones are also not playful. It is still an area with high opportunities for exploration. 

Bamboo: 
Natural, Eco-friendly, fast growing biomass, can be cut in the forest itself. It also has high value in the market; much elegance can be brought in the product. Having natural curved cylindrical body, it is solid and easily blocks light. Electrical insulator, does not get heated up by bulb light, and consists no toxic constituents. No such toy in market, Gives freedom to creativity, Can cover wide range age groups.

Hence, the project aims to provide children eco-friendly, playful optical devices to manipulate, explore and gain some learning experience which could be useful in their learning of fundamental principles of optics. And, Bamboo being a natural material and its cohesiveness with ecological balance should set new standards of awareness for parents and teachers. Exploring the bamboo as material and developing product to utilize the advantageous properties of the material.

Final Concept:
It is an introductory kit to light and optics using lenses and mirrors. The designed kit is optics based educational play kit for kids of age ten years and above. With the use of natural materials such as bamboo, the product imparts a feel of warmth, playfulness, user friendliness and harmlessness.

Fun projects include making own kaleidoscope, periscope and using curved mirrors to create funny images or exploring the size of the image. The outcome of the play will become a tool to compare and understand the principles of light, which are taught as theories in higher studies.
