Kansara

Brass copper and metal ware

This craft is called Kansara, the community is originally from Gujarat settled in Marwad Rajasthan. Kansara, Kansu meaning bronze and other metal. Apart from using sheet metal and forming techniques (beating, brazing, soldering etc.) The other technique used is casting. Amongst tourist popular artifacts are the vintage products, which are ornamented and treated to look old. In ancient times, the traditional indian artifacts and utensils were made out of brass, copper, bell metal etc.
