Diwali is the festival of lights. The word "diwali" itself means a row of lamps. During this festival it is normal for every household to light lamps. Lamps welcome the godess of wealth "Laxmi" into people's home. The festival symbolically is about the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.
