'VT Capsule' - Interactive Device at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

CST is one of the busiest stations in India. The station is a hub of the local suburban train network. The network of suburban trains (Local Trains) that branch out of this station is responsible for keeping Bombay running. CST typifies all the features of a regular Indian Railway Station – the chaos, anxious passengers and porters carrying oversized baggage, ticket collectors in black, hawkers, beggars and sweepers all adding to the cacophony at the station.

The attempt in this project was to identify and understand the information and communication needs of people at CST and designing an interactive device to stimulate experience and make it memorable.

VT Capsule Objectives:
• Interpret History, Architecture and Heritage information to people
• Encourage social interaction between people
• Sound and music output
