Mobile phone actually is nothing but a two way radio (transmitter and receiver) used for communication, through a call or SMS. Thanks to the advanced technology, now we can get wireless internet connection also through the mobile phone. This handheld device has tremendous potential to use for benefit of various user groups.

Today, this device 'Mobile phone' is no more the Luxury, it's a Necessity. This mobile device is now becoming much more than just a communication device. Already it comes with integrated digital camera, music player, voice recorder, calculator and many other functions. People have so many reasons to buy a mobile phone. But everyone uses almost same type of handset, though the purpose or need is different.

The mobile phone industry is changing and, as customers become more sophisticated and demands more from their handsets. The narrator sees this as an opportunity to explore these new applications/ services which can be unique for a particular set of users. The aim is come up with a product which will add value to our everyday life.

The project 'Mobile Phone - Identity for Individuals' deals with the designing a personal mobile phone for young college students (Junior and Senior college), age group 17 - 22 years. The product will assist the student in her/ his daily activities such as studies, relaxing and extracurricular activities.
