Waste management has always been a major issue across different levels of the ecosystems across the globe. In recent times, many events are being organized in the area of environment and sustainability to increase the awareness about the sustainable living practices among the citizens, but still there are several gaps between the waste management systems and the beneficiaries.

The project focuses on identifying opportunities for introducing new services and stakeholders to bridge the gap between the waste management system and the students at IIT Bombay. The final design solution comprises five independent interventions which all together could have potential to influence the student behavior at different encounters in the student’s journey. The design interventions are grounded upon Behavioral Change principles alongside Service Design interventions by leveraging the service ecosystem to nudge and motivate the students towards sustainability and efficient waste management practices.
